Barbara Janette Shiver

Barbara J Shiver, 84, passed away surrounded by her family on May 22, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on January 10, 1941, in Cottondale, Florida, to the late Lindsay and Beatrice Payne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Shiver Jr., She is survived by her children, Kim Pasquino (Jeff), Debbie Blankenbiller (Matt), and Barbara Ann Dobson (Jamie); her grandchildren, Michael Williams, David Williams, Jordan Christensen, and Gavin Dobson; three great-grandchildren, her late brother Gayle Payne and Danny Payne.  

Barbara was deeply committed to her family and excelled in her role as a Mama and Granny.

She was also known for her southern cooking, especially for her homemade biscuits, which were loved by everyone who had the chance to try them. She attended Victory Church and Fellowship Church, where she built strong connections and lasting friendships.

As we bid farewell to Barbara J Shiver, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. Her memory and beautiful smile will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved and in the many lives she touched. Barbara's spirit, characterized by love and devotion, will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held June 5th at 3pm at Victory Church,1401 Griffin Rd, Lakeland, Florida 33810
