Steven Ray Wilt

Steven Ray Wilt was born in Lakeland, Florida on January 27, 1959. He was one of five brothers who grew up in Florida. He became a resident of Denton, Texas in 1991. Steve married Patty Jean Davis, and they have been married over 26 years. They truly enjoyed being in each other’s company and supporting one another with love and tender care over these years.

Steve loved driving and drove school buses for special needs students for many years. Eventually, his eyesight gave way, and he had to stop driving. Steve then found a new hobby; computers. He loved being online with his computer, where he would spend much of his time getting to know people from around the world online, forming friendships with people thousands of miles away.

Steven enjoyed the outdoors and was particularly fond of both the mountains and the oceans. He loved spending time on beaches, relaxing with his family, enjoying all the beauty that god has created.

A few months ago, Steve found out that he had stage 4 cancer. Sadly, it was beyond control, and he was not in a position to do the chemotherapy treatments. This was a very difficult decision for him and his family, but they opted to spend these last weeks together with one another, no treatments, but just together. On Friday, August 2, 2019, Steve Wilt was called home to meet his creator. He was greeted above by his parents, Roy and Nadine Wilt, and other family and friends who left this earth before him.

His life will continue to be remembered by his wife, Patty Wilt, their son, John Wilt; his daughters: Stephanie, Jessica, and Brittney; and his five grandchildren; his brothers, Jerry, Matthew, and Roy; and manyclose friends. His presence, laughter, humor, love and friendship will truly be missed.
