Steven Puleo was born on July 20th, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York to Andrew and Elena Puleo. At an early age, his parents saw his passion for music and enrolled him in accordion lessons. His natural skill and passion from music helped him excel. As the years passed, he was able to teach himself to play the guitar and soon joined and band. While still in high school, his band played in local bars and clubs. Upon graduating from high school in 1974, Steven attended Brooklyn College. Soon after, he stated working for JPMorgan Chase. Over the next 25 years, he continued to work with JPMorgan and his band, Everyday People, as they played in bars and clubs.
Steven was the kind of adult that you would sit at the kid’s table during weddings and on holidays. Since Steven’s heroes were “The Three Stooges”, he was known to attempt to reenact some of their crazy antics. His family knew he would always keep the kids entertained.
Steven never had kids of his own, but he became an uncle in his early twenties. Steven took his uncle duties seriously. Even though he worked nights, he still would get up and play with his nieces and nephews whenever they would wake him up by barging in his room and jumping on his bed. He tried to pass his passion for music to his nieces, nephew’s great nieces and great nephews by making his famous mix tapes with them.
Steven is survived by his mother, Elena Puleo; sister, Gloria Tedesco; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 7 great nephews and 4 great nieces.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-7:00pm., Monday, July 22, 2019, with memorial service at 7:00pm.
Steven was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He was taken from his family too soon. He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten.
