Pauline Lurline Childress, 76, of Lakeland, FL, passed away on September 10, 2018.
Born in Lawrenceburg, TN, on January 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Bailey and Rosa Emily Melton Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Dudley Childress Sr., daughter, Terry Lin Novem; brothers, Paul Edward and James Garfield Bailey. She worked at Carpenter’s Home Estates for 20 years as a housekeeper. She loved her family and her beloved cat, Dudley. She enjoyed playing card games, gardening, taking care of the elderly, watching movies, and listening to country music.
Pauline is survived by her three children, James Dudley Childress Jr. (Robin), Barbara Ann Ward (Raymond), and Wayne Edward Childress (Tina); sister, Helen Smith; four grandchildren, Heather Childress, Breanna Wortelman, Raymond Ward II, and Justin Childress; and one great-grandchild, Jeremiah Wortelman.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at Socrum Cemetery, 3125 West Socrum Loop Road, Lakeland 33805.
