John Thomas Roberts

John 'J.T.' Thomas Roberts, Jr., 89, of Lakeland, FL, passed away on November 1, 2018.


Born in Miami, Florida, on December 24, 1928, he was the son of the late John Thomas Roberts, Sr. and Katherine Sweeting Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean Roberts, and brother, Philemon Roberts.


J.T. is survived by his son, John 'Johnny' Thomas Roberts, III (wife Debbie); sister, Eloise Peeples (husband Boe) of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Sasser (husband Tom) and John Roberts, IV (wife Carrie); great-grandchildren, Jake, Jared, Emily and Thomas; and great-great grandchild, Annabelle.


John began his career as a traveling evangelist and later served as a pastor for numerous congregations across the country in the Church of God.


The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 5:00-6:00PM at Together Church, 6725 N. Socrum Loop Road, Lakeland, FL, with a funeral service starting at 6:00PM.
