Anthony Townsend Obituary
Anthony Paul Townsend, 36, passed away on July 12, 2018.
Born in Lakeland, Florida, he was the son of his loving mother, Phyllis Cockrell O'Steen.
Anthony is also survived by his grandmother, Willah Cockrell; child, Ayden Townsend; brother, Patrick Townsend; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Anthony enjoyed the outdoors which included gardening, animals, hunting, and fishing. He was a student at Polk State College where was an avid reader and loved discussing what he read with others. He enjoyed learning about history and collected foreign money and coins from WWII. He was also very good at restoring antique furniture.
A memorial gathering will be held on July 20, 2018 at 5:00PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road, Lakeland, FL 33805, with a memorial service starting at 6:00PM. The family is requesting that guests dress casually for the memorial gathering and service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kathleen Historical Society in Anthony’s honor.
